IT'S A HARD KNOCK LIFE
(FOR US), 2004

Aluminum+rubber structures scaffold cherry trees. While appearing as fixed and distinct frameworks, the scaffolds are designed to expand and flex outwards based on each tree's growth. One becomes contained and internalized by the other as each negotiates ongoing construction, deconstruction, and reconstruction through time.

An attempt to consider human-nonhuman architectures as shifting relations, struggles between entangled hard knock lives.
