CROWD CONTROL, 2005

Aluminum stanchions form a 1200-sf. maze in a public park. Visitors configure their own pathways — and thus continually recompose the overall pattern — by interchanging red belts. Socio-spatial management becomes a flexible field for individual and collective negotiation.

Installed at Sara D. Roosevelt Park, NYC; supported by NYC Department of Cultural Affairs - MCAF Grant, Artists Space, and Puffin Foundation
